Abstract | Wear experiments and measurements were performed to study surface microtopography. Investigations extended to wear in the course of the non-lubricated ceramic-steel clutch and lubricated camshaft. An algorithm has been developed to analyze the asperities and to characterize the worn surfaces. Statistical analysis of asperities was prepared based on slicing method. Distribution curve has been used to display the results of analysis. Peak angle and rate of major and minor axis was analyzed to characterize the shape of asperities. It was also examined what additional information could be obtained by scanning electron microscope recordings of surface structure, with particular regard to tribological phenomena on such surfaces. |
