At the Department of Mechatronics, Optics and Engineering Informatics of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics a number of researchers are conducting experiments about anomalous colour vision. Parameters of normal colour vision have been identified for research on anomalous colour vision. One of the most important characteristics of colour vision is the ability of hue identification.
The objective of the present paper is to examine the following phenomena:
• the systematic individual differences between the ability of hue identification of different observers with normal colour vision
• the short and long term variability in the hue identification of observers with normal colour vision
• the significant differences of the measurement results from different monochromatic basic colours
The method of experimental design was applied to evaluate the experimental results. The main advantage of this method is that it makes possible to get significant results planned precisely and carried out consequently.
