The presence, importance of small- and medium-sized enterprises is significant in the Hungarian economy, however the accession to the European Union highlighted the problems of competitiveness. Meeting the requirements and competition terms within a respective market structure is of utmost importance. Due to the agressive expansionist policy of foreign multinational enterprises in the working environment of the national companies a new series of challenges have appeared in our market relations which may threaten their survival. Beside adaptability and thorough preparadness the primary conditions of survival include assistance and deliberate economic measures which have been carefully thought out.
The aim of this lecture is to present what opportunities the small- and middle-sized enterprises have to survive, to reinforce their market position and to improve their competitiveness beside the presence of multinational enterprises on the market.
