Összefoglalás

A tűzgátló ajtók követelményrendszerének fejlődését az adott kor épületben történő életvitele hozta magával. A városok központjaiban megjelenő többszintes nagyméretű padlást létrehozó faszerkezetű fedélszerkezet égése és a tűzoltási tapasztalatok a teljes épület fedél pusztulásának elkerülése érdekében már a tűz-szakaszolást követelte meg, benne a tűzgátló ajtók elhelyezésével. Az ajtók fa szerkezetűek voltak vasborítással, amelynek hő hatására történő deformációjára is nagy figyelmet kellett fordítani. A további tűzesetek rámutattak speciális magasabb tűzkockázatú helyiségek (szemétgyűjtő, pince, tűzveszélyes folyadéktároló, stb.) tűzgátló ajtóval történő védelmének jogszabályban vagy szabványban történő szabályozás szükségességére. A tűzgátló ajtók szükségességét a megmentett életek és vagyoni javak igazolták. Az ajtók további fejlesztése a gyártók által folyamatos, hogy a megfelelő tűzvédelmi követelményeket és az épületben megjelenő belső építészeti követelményeket is kielégítsék a jövőben.
