Napjainkban egyes iskolák, az ortodonciai és az ortognátiai diagnózisok felállításához készülő teleröntgenek elkészítésekor, nagy hangsúlyt fektetnek a természetes fejtartásra. A CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) felvétel elkészítésekor a páciens fejét több ponton rögzítik, így a legtöbb esetben nem természetes fejtartás mellett készül el a felvétel. Sok szerző elfogadja ezt a rögzített pozíciót, mint a fej természetes helyzetét, mások pedig a CT megjelenítő program segítségével állítják be azt. Ez azt jelenti, hogy a felvétel adatbázisát forgatják a kefalometriai síkoknak megfelelő pozícióba. Az irodalomban találtunk néhány eljárást ennek a megoldására, de ezek konvencionális ortodonciai pontokat használtak. Munkánk során olyan anatómiai képleteket kerestünk, amelyek képesek helyettesíteni az ortodonciai síkok meghatározásában általánosan használtakat, konvencionális és nem konvencionális pontok felhasználásával. A balesetben sérült páciensek esetén a kefalometriai mérések és a rekonstrukciós modell számára szükséges pontok gyakran hiányoznak vagy sérültek a baleset következtében. A CBCT felvételeken sok olyan anatómiai képlet látható, ami a hagyományos frontális és oldalirányú teleröntgenen nem vagy csak rosszul volt azonosítható. Középvonali anatómiai képletek segítségével meghatároztuk az arc sagittalis középsíkját. Eredményeink szerint a vizsgált képletek használhatóak traumás esetekben is.
